Walking

Walking is free, fun and can be enjoyed in the company of like minded people or on one’s own. All you really need is a good pair of walking boots and in some cases a destination.

Walking in Herts provides a wealth of information on walks either organised or those that you can take yourself, maps and books, and even information on the local weather.

The Ramblers Association is a great place to start. It lists walks around the country, ways to get involved and suitable accommodation to rest along the way. The Hertfordshire branch of the Ramblers Association can be found here.

There is a plethora of activities designed specifically with people with disabilities in mind and a dedicated ramblers’ web site called Disabled Ramblers has been designed.

The Hertfordshire County Council provides a list of all walking and rambling groups in Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Health Walks
