Bus Travel

The Council aims to safeguard frequencies on the already established routes such as between Maple Cross, Mill End, Rickmansworth and Croxley Green and between Chorleywood and Rickmansworth.

Besides working with established bus transport companies such as Arriva (for full timetables see http://www.intalink.org.uk/), the Council continues to support contracted bus services such as Rickmansworth or Maple Cross to Mount Vernon Hospital.

Community Transport is the provision of non-profit making transport for members of the community who do not have suitable conventional public transport services available for their travel needs. There are two distinctive transport services: transport services for older people and transport services for people with disabilities.

Dial-a-ride is a transport service for the elderly and people of any age who have difficulty travelling due to permanent disability or illness.

An excellent route planner for South and East of England provides information about routes, times, and combination of various public transport modes to get you where you need to go the fastest and the most convenient way.

The National Concessionary Fares Scheme entitles all residents that are aged 60 or over and residents that are 'eligible disabled' to free off-peak local bus travel within England. In addition, Hertfordshire pass holders are also able to travel at any time on bus services across Hertfordshire.
